Interacting with particular geographical points in Barcelona, or any beloved urban locale, can provoke powerful narratives that encompass a writer’s connection with not only the physical landscape of the city, but with an inner dialogue —one that is connected to memory, deep emotion, and personal identity. 


This 120 minute writing workshop is intended to encourage creative individuals to generate meaningful, personal urban map points through short writing exercises. Together lets uncover significant stories embedded within the framework and landmarks of the city—a personal atlas if you will.


While we will examine traditional and experimental writing forms as models, this workshop aims to encourage both experienced and aspiring writers to locate and describe a relevant urban space of their choosing through freewriting —both an exterior place/location in Barcelona, (or another city to your liking) and one that is connected to and…
